Page Monitor compares selected page text and stores monitor data in your browser.
Privacy policy

Monitored page content and saved change history stay on your device. Page Monitor does not upload your snapshots, HTML previews, selectors or change history to the developer, ExtensionPay, Stripe or a cloud monitoring service. Your monitor settings and history are stored in your browser profile, not synchronized between devices. There is no analytics, advertising or developer-operated monitoring server.
Monitoring is not entirely offline. Checking a page sends requests to the websites you select, and optional payment/licensing uses ExtensionPay and Stripe. Those network requests are described below; they do not upload your saved monitoring content or history.
Monitoring data stored on your device
Page Monitor saves the names, URLs, selected regions, intervals, durations and status of monitors that you create. It stores the latest text snapshot, a bounded HTML preview, and up to ten recent text changes per monitor in your browser’s local extension storage. It also stores notification delivery status and unread counts. This information can include personal or confidential content from the pages you choose. Only monitor content you intend to retain locally.
Unfinished forms, picker selections, progress and temporary-tab ownership are kept in session storage. Unfinished forms are separate for each browser window and normally last until the browser session ends. Saved monitors remain until deleted or extension data is cleared.
Requests to the websites you monitor
The extension checks the sites you select with your browser’s available session. Requests go to those sites, which receive the requested URL and ordinary request information such as your IP address and applicable cookies. Requesting a monitored URL is necessary to retrieve that page; the extension does not send your saved monitor configuration or history to the site. The extension does not copy your site passwords or cookies into its storage. Sites may have their own privacy practices. When JavaScript rendering is needed, a temporary tab runs the site’s own code; that site’s normal network activity can occur. The extension explains this before the first rendering check.
The extension does not send your saved monitor URLs, selectors, snapshots or history to the developer, ExtensionPay or Stripe. These services do not receive the content you monitor.
Optional purchases
Free monitoring does not require a payment account. If you choose to purchase or restore the lifetime license, ExtensionPay and Stripe handle the hosted payment and restoration process, including your email and payment information. Card information is entered on the payment provider’s pages, not in Page Monitor.
The licensing library stores a local installation date, per-install licensing credential and provider user response, which can include email, plan and payment status. Page Monitor separately caches its product ID and paid status. Licensing requests send the licensing credential and retrieve purchase status from ExtensionPay. Initial license setup can also identify a development installation. Licensing credentials and responses are kept locally, not in browser sync storage. Checks occur after purchase/restoration, on manual refresh, and periodically to verify license status. No monitored page content is included in those requests.
Modern Firefox versions request optional licensing-data consent when you purchase or restore. Revoking this consent prevents further licensing requests. Previously verified lifetime access remains available offline unless a later successful verification reports it as unpaid.

Retention and control
Delete a monitor to remove its snapshots and history. Editing its URL, selected region or rendering setting resets comparison/history data. Cancel a draft to remove it. Uninstall the extension or clear its extension data to remove local monitoring and licensing information. Restore a purchase using its original email if you reinstall; monitor history is not restored by that process.
Local storage is not an encrypted vault. Anyone with access to your browser profile or device may be able to access it. The extension requests site permissions as needed and lets you remove them through your browser settings.
Use and disclosure
Page Monitor does not sell user data or use it for advertising. Information is used to provide monitoring, notifications and optional licensing. Use of data obtained through browser APIs is limited to the disclosed functionality and complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. This policy describes the extension; third-party websites and payment providers operate under their own policies.
